How do I know if I have a colony of bats?

Will a bat problem go away on its own?

Are bats dangerous?

Do ultrasonic bat-repellent devices work?
United Bat Control does not recommend ultrasonic devices as a substitute for professional bat exclusion and structural bat-proofing.
The underlying problem is usually that bats have access to openings in the building. Even if a device temporarily changes bat behavior, it does not identify and permanently correct those structural access points.
